The Middlesex Association for the Blind has five Resource Centres equipped with daily living aids, these are located in Barnet, Enfield, Harrow, Hounslow and Richmond.

Barnet

Our new Resource Centre at Barnet, which is based at Flightways, was opened by the Mayor of Barnet on the 25th September 2007.

Visits to the Resource Centre are by appointment only and take place every Wednesday morning.

Harrow

Resource Centre mornings are every Wednesday by appointment only and take place at Bentley Day Centre where we will be able to give advice about the specialised equipment we have for demonstration, which includes: talking watches and clocks; large print diaries and calendars; anti-glare glasses; kitchen equipment; daily living aids and much more.

A Rehabilitation Worker for visually impaired people will also be on hand at the resource centre for a chat.

Enfield

The resource centre in Enfield is run in partnership with Enfield Vision. These are drop-in sessions and we meet on the third Thursday of each month at Park Avenue Centre, 65C Park Avenue, Enfield, between 10.30 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. (However, please note that here is no meeting in December!).

We have a large range of specialised equipment on demonstration and offer a free ordering service. There is a free tape lending library with a large selection of titles. We have a qualified instructor who takes seated keep fit sessions, healing taster sessions plus free tea and coffee.
A rehabilitation officer is always in attendance.

Hounslow

The new resource room in the Calen Centre at Hounslow opened on the 24th May 2006.

We are open to the public on Tuesdays, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and you can find us at: Calen Centre, Disability Living Centre, Harlington Road West, Feltham, TW14 0JJ.

Richmond

Richmond's Sensory Services, together with our resource centre and IT training, has moved to the Sheen Lane Centre, 74 Sheen Lane, London SW14 8LP.

The Richmond resource centre is open every Monday between 10 am and 1 pm. Visits are by appointment only. If you would like to book a visit, please contact the Social Services on 020 8831 6343.
