The Harrow Association for the Blind (part of the MAB) is a registered charity working locally to provide support to blind, partially sighted and deafblind people throughout the Borough of Harrow. Our staff and trained volunteers work together to provide a range of high quality services, information, advice and training, all aimed at assisting the visually impaired to lead independent lives.
We offer the following services in Harrow:-
Volunteers are always needed to help blind people in Harrow. Whether you are retired, unemployed or in full-time employment, as long as you can commit to, at least, two hours per week or fortnight we would like you to join our team.

Bill is a visually impaired IT Tutor who has been training 90 year old Oscar in our training suite.
So, if you can spare one or two hours per week or per fortnight to help a person with a visual impairment, then please visit our Volunteering section.The Harrow Association for the Blind is a registered charity and all of our activities are dependent upon contributions and donations.

Our Wednesday morning Resource Centre is running successfully and the magnifier assessments have proved to be very popular. If anyone would like to come along, the consultation is free but please be aware that any equipment will need to be purchased. If you would like to make an appointment, please contact Fernanda by calling our head office on 020 8423 5141.
We have recently launched a new training programme to offer a 10 week Guide course and currently have two trainers based at Bentley Day Centre. We are still able to offer both JAWS and Supernova training for anyone wishing to go on to further education or to get back into the workplace.
