The Brent Association for the Blind (part of the MAB) is a registered charity working locally to provide support to blind, partially sighted and deaf/blind people throughout the Borough of Brent. Our staff and trained volunteers work together to provide a range of high quality services, information, advice and training, all aimed at assisting the visually impaired to lead independent lives.

The Association offers the following services in Brent

• Home Visiting Service
• Training: Computer Training We are now able to offer IT training in Brent Association of Disabled People's IT training room. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like further details or to put your name on the list for training.                                                          
• Visual Awareness Training
• Resource Centres The Association has three resource centres equipped with daily living aids for people with a visual impairment. Currently, your nearest resource centre is located in Harrow.
• MidSight Hospital Information points The Brent Association for the Blind works in partnership with the eye clinic at Central Middlesex Hospital to provide invaluable information and support to patients at the point of diagnosis of their eye condition.

Volunteering

We value people like Maura and Catherine, who have been volunteering at the Brent Association for the Blinds' MidSight Hospital Information Point at Central Middlesex Hospital for 5 and 7 years respectively.

They are both dedicated ladies who attend the eye clinic every Wednesday morning. Over the years, they have assisted thousands of patients by providing them with helpful information and advice concerning visual impairment.

If you can spare one or two hours a week/fortnight, to help a person with a visual impairment, then please visit our Volunteering section.

Brent News!

In January this year, the Brent Association for the Blind launched its new IT training service in the IT room at Brent Association for Disabled People. The student in the picture is practising her keyboard skills.

We provide one-to-one training to people with visual impairment. If you would like more information, email: IT Training or contact us for your requirements.
